Rekeying a compatible cylinder stops the old key from operating that cylinder. Replacement may be more appropriate when the lock is damaged, worn, or unsuitable for the door.
What affects the work
Electronic locks and access control credentials require a separate review. Changing a mechanical key does not automatically revoke keypad codes, app access, cards, or fobs.
